Ways to Make a Difference with a Local Nonprofit

“When Didi left my parent’s home for the first time at age 42 and had the opportunity to move into LSA’s Ramita home in 2017, the home soon became an extension of our family’s home” (Christine Wang, Board Member). Christine and her family rest easy at night knowing their loved one is in an environment where he is safe and cared for

Adults with developmental disabilities are often cared for by family members who dream of seeing their loved ones find a forever home during their lifetime.

LSA is fortunate to have helped make this dream a reality for many families with help from community members who look to make a difference.

In this blog, we’ll cover how you could make stories like Christine and her brother Didi’s possible, by volunteering, joining our team, or attending our events.

Volunteer

Engaging in volunteering not only enables participants to align themselves with our mission but also empowers them to create the change they want to see in a community they care deeply for, adults with developmental disabilities.

In addition to furthering our nonprofit’s mission, there are many other unknown benefits to volunteering like expanding your skill set. Read more about those benefits here

Our volunteer opportunities are for everyone whether you just moved into the Santa Clara area or would simply like to be part of the momentum that is contributing to the lives of adults with developmental disabilities who deserve the opportunity to thrive and lead a quality life in the community.

Please contact Celia at cmoreton@lsahomes.org for upcoming volunteering opportunities with LSA.

We hold various events throughout the year but our top events you can expect to see annually are Home is Where the Heart is and Run Home.

These gatherings are vibrant celebrations of inclusivity and the impact we’ve made in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities.

Join us in the events by being a helping hand, donating, sharing your talents, or simply taking part in the festivities.

We extend a warm invitation for everyone to join us for our upcoming 5k+10k race, Run Home on Sat Sept 9, 2023, at Baylands Park, Sunnyvale.
