​Born in New York City and raised in San Jose since the age of two, Luc has always made steady progress in his own way. Two experiences have especially shaped his journey: moving into Ramita and developing his love of skiing. For the past 20 years, Luc has been skiing with Achieve Tahoe, where his determination and unique way of communicating shine through on the slopes. Skiing has become more than a sport—it reflects the perseverance he shows in every part of his life, building his confidence, strength, and joy year after year.

Luc communicates and connects in ways all his own. He bops along to music—especially songs by his brother Chris—and uses a voice device, icons, and his expressive smile to share what matters most. His goals focus on growing independence: gaining confidence on the ski slopes, improving communication, and mastering small but meaningful steps, like opening his own snack bag.

He also finds joy in activities like swimming, neighborhood walks, and family outings. With Ramita staff, he lights up on adventures to places like Great America, Top Golf, or the beach. With his family, he enjoys the lazy river at Great Wolf Lodge, trips to Hawaii, and strolling the gardens at the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum. Even simple moments, like car rides or FaceTiming his grandparents and brother Chris, make him beam.

Since moving into Ramita, Luc’s independence and social life have blossomed. He’s built strong bonds with staff, enjoys sharing dinners with his housemates, and loves evenings filled with movies, football, and laughter. Sometimes, when family comes to visit, Luc chooses to stay behind with his roommates—a testament to how much he loves his community.

Luc radiates happiness and rarely lets challenges hold him back—despite seizures, spasms, and communication barriers, he remains resilient and full of life. His smile, his energy, and his gentle presence make him unforgettable to everyone he meets. At Ramita, this spirit has only flourished. With the support he receives, Luc continues to grow in independence while staying true to the adventurous, loving person he has always been.
